"The aim of the Master's study was to determine key manifestations of fatigue related to car assembly work. This was done by assessing the relationships between multi-level data using high quality devices in a controlled, laboratory environment. Muscle output-related outcomes, fatigue perception outcomes, kinematic-related outcomes, sensory-proprioceptive outcomes, vascular outcomes and work performance were recorded during a speed fastening task completed at shoulder height. Work blocks of 5min were performed until subjects reached a state of fatigue (Borg CR10 ≥ 8/10); to assess cumulative effects of fatigue, two identical sessions separated by a lunch break were accomplished during the same day. Results in the study support the role of the flexed shoulder posture as the main source of fatigue in occupational tasks, and the importance of adequate blood delivery mechanisms to the extremities. Tools like Borg CR10 analog scale could be easy and friendly to use for an estimation of the fatigue recovery. Quantitative Sensory Testing applied at the neck/shoulder site could be helpful in the early identification of signs of fatigue. These tools may provide a way to objectively monitor fatigue at the work sites which, in turn, could aid to diminish the prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). " --
